Queer as folk (2001) #6

Michael and Brian are perusing a comic book store and Michael is telling Brian about his night out with David.

Outside, Justin and Daphne cross paths with “Brian’s lesbians”, Lindsay and Melanie, and Justin offers to help the girls carry their shopping bags home. At Mel and Linds’ house, Justin is showing the girls his sketches when Brian arrives. He doesn’t seem very happy to find Justin there but he still admires one of Justin’s drawings of which he is the subject. Lindsay offers Justin a spot in the art showing that she’s organizing at the Gay&Lesbians Center and the boy accepts.

Meanwhile, Michael goes to David to ask for a second chance and David accepts.

Ted is thinking about changing his lifestyle after what happened to him and so he decides to attend group meetings at “Date Bait”, a group where men over 30 who are looking for a “real” relationship not based solely on sex can meet.
Ted forces Emmett to go with him to the meeting and there Ted meets Roger whom he decides to date. The two of them decide not to have sex for a while and just see where things go.

Later at Woody’s both Michael and Ted talk about their dates and, when the guys ask Michael to introduce David to them, Michael complies. When Brian and David meet there’s an instant dislike between the two of them.

The day of the showing at the GLC, Justin’s hoping to see Brian there and is surprised when his mother, Jennifer, shows up to admire his work. Also surprising everyone, Brian actually attends the showing and Jennifer sees her son and Brian together for the first time. Ted and Roger are also at the showing but they decide to go back to Ted’s house and have sex… the night won’t end up well for the two of them.

In the end, one of Justin’s drawings was sold: it’s the one of Brian lying naked on the bed. No one knows who bought it but at the end of the episode we find out: it was Brian.
