Los Angeles Queer as folk Convention 2013

Here I am finally, with the memories of a wonderful day.

Sorry it took me so long, but coming back home after the holidays is always hard and work is already kicking my ass…

I'm going to share soon pics and report of my week in L.A., but right now, let's talk about the RnS Convention.

Well, first of all, let me say that it was totally worth it, an experience I'm glad I didn't miss.

And there's a woman we need to thank for that: the wonderful Elke.

She rocks! She saved the Convention and gave us the possibility to be part of something special.

There are really not enough words to say thank you!

I'm not going to give you a full detailed report of the Con, because, well… I'm not good with words and also because there are lots of good reports already out there.

But I'll try to give you a short report of the day, from my POV.

On Sunday I woke up early to get ready and then spent a couple of hours at the pool drinking coffee and trying to relax, 'cause I was so fucking nervous… This was my 5th Convention and I thought I was going to be able to control my emotions, but no… every time it's like the first time.

At 9.45 they let us take our places in the California Ballroom.

We were few people, so totally different from Cologne, but it was more intimate.

At 10.00 it was finally Con-time.

Elke was the first one coming on stage, introducing immediately Sheena, and let me tell you: Best!Mod!Ever!!!! She's awesome, so funny and smart and the perfect choice for the event.

Sheena started then to introduce the guests.

First, Ryan. Remember Brandon? Oh boy… the guy is smoking hot!

Big, blue eyes and a beautiful smile. He was definitely a surprise.

The second one was Michelle, always so beautiful and sweet.

Then the handsome Robert, followed by Peter and then by Randy.

Randy was in a good mood and gifted us with lots of smiles during the day.

I think I've never seen him so relaxed and playful.

Sheena then said something like "You might remember this boy, he played a character called Brian Kinney" and that's when Gale came in, with Scott on his back. LOL! Oh God…. So funny!

And I couldn't stop staring at him... he took my breath away… Hat/no hat, beard/no beard, glasses/no glasses, I don't care… he's still the most beautiful man for me.

As always Gale was a little bit 'weird' at the beginning. He barely looked at the audience, always trying to hide his face. But later, during the day, he started to relax a little and opened up a little.

After the opening, there was the autograph session.

When it was my turn, I started with Ryan.

Did I say the boy is hot? He was so kind and sweet and talked with me for some minutes.

He was surprised to know I was from Italy and told me about the time he came to Florence.

He asked me where exactly my hometown is and I told him near Milan. He said he had plans to work as model in Milan, but then his agency needed him in Toronto, so he never got the chance to see Milan.

Second one was Peter. Oh God! I laughed so much with him.

He looked at the pic I wanted him to sign and said "OMG, this is real size. It's so big"

And then he put the picture on his face and called Michelle saying "Hey Michelle! Look at this! It's my big head, real size" I so wanted to hide…

And she said "Oh, so cool! Do we all get one of them, real size?"

I said yes, and she said "Great! Can't wait to see mine"

And the next one was Michelle. She took my hand and started to pet it while telling me "Look at you, you're so beautiful" and I was like "Thank you but YOU are beautiful."

She loved her picture and smiled at me.

Next one was Robert, who loved the picture I had for him and showed it to Michael (the agent) and they talked about how good the pic was.

Next one was Scott; we chatted for a while talking about Italy and I thanked him for coming.

I then moved to the next guest…. Mr. Harold.

He welcomed me with a beautiful smile on his face and asked for my name. I told him, Pamela, or Pam if he preferred and he said "I love Pamela, I'll go with it." *faints*

He was really, really sweet…

Last one was Randy and I spent a couple of minutes chatting with him too. He wanted to know where I was from and he was surprise I travelled from Italy.

After the autograph session, it was time for the first panel, with Gale & Randy.

Then, I had the Meet & Greet with Gale and Randy.

Randy took of his shoes and put them on again and Gale said something like "that stinks"

It was so funny to see their interaction. My idea is that at the beginning they were scared about what kind of questions the fans were going to ask, afraid we were going to ask something too personal.

But it seems that they soon realized we were going to behave and started to relax.

Someone asked if they thought Justin would eventually found out about the fact Brian was there every night, at the hospital, after the bashing. They looked at each other and yes, they said they think he would found out about it soon or later. Gale said something about Brian letting Justin know about it "accidentally".

The thing that surprised me the most was that Gale began to talk about his accident and about his brain injury. Surprised because in Bilbao he refused to talk about it.

I remember Gale saying that one of his favorite scene was the one when Brian was smoking pot with Debbie, because hey, how many times you get high with your best friend's mom? ;)

The M&G with Peter and Scott was so funny. God, I love these guys! They are so great with the fans, and they always have some funny memories to share with all of us.

My next activity was another M&G with Ryan, Michelle and Robert, but they were late and since I had to wait for a while for them, I decided to take my first pictures, since the line was really short.

And so, the very first pic I took was with Mr. Gorgeous, Gale ♥

Can I say that I was really, really lucky? I had to stay there, with his arms around me for a little while.

First, the photographer had a problem with the camera and so we had to wait, then there wasn't the right light in the first pic we took and so we tried for the third time. I wanted to stay there forever.

And Gale kept rubbing my back all the time. *happy sigh*

After that, I once again stayed in line for just a couple of minutes and took the one with Gale and Randy. How exciting it was to stay there, between them, hugging them both.

And since I still had some time, I also did another short line and took the one with Randy, who waited for me with a huge smile on his face. Did I say already that he smiled a lot? ;)

Then finally, it was time for the Meet & Greet with Michelle, Ryan and Robert M&G! And it was soooooo funny! Michelle talked about sex positions, and she did actually mimic some of them.

Speaking of sex scenes, Robert told us how scared Hal was of sex scenes, especially of the first one with Michael and Ben. Robert said Hal looked like a ghost after Daniel and Ron told him he had to put both legs on Ben's shoulders. After seeing his face they asked him if he would prefer to put just one leg and he nodded.

After that, we had the lunch break.

The afternoon started with the photo session and in 10 minutes I was able to take all the missing pictures. Scott, Ryan, Peter, Michelle and Robert. And then, the group photo.

I was there, sitting between Gale and Randy and of course, once again, there was a problem with the camera and the photographer had to talk with his assistant for a couple of minutes.

And so I stayed there, while someone behind me played with my hair (people then told me it was Michelle) and while Randy turned to face Peter and they started to sing.

I kept looking around trying to figure out what was going on…. but too excited and nervous to ask or do something.

After the pic I went back to the California Ballroom waiting for the first panel to begin: Michelle, Ryan, Robert.

Again… so funny! Michelle was flirting with Ryan and it was hilarious.

We then laughed so much with Peter and Scott. These guys know how to entertain you ;)

And Peter talked a lot about his new show, "The Fosters".

Last panel, was with Randy and Gale.

The closing was amazing. One of the funniest things was seeing how everyone was making fun of Michelle. Poor woman… I'm sure you all heard about it by now, but if not, this is what happened.

During the closing ceremony in Cologne last year, Thea and Michelle tried to recreate the scene when Lindsay accepts Mel's proposal. In Cologne Michelle tried to lift her up but they both fell.

Scott opened his arms calling Randy and just like the girls did last year, he picked him up and dropped him down. Randy couldn't stop laughing. It was priceless.

Generally, in the previous Cons in Bologna and Bilbao, during the closing ceremony, Gale doesn't say a word. But this time, he surprised us by thanking everyone for all the amazing gifts and he said it was a little bit overwhelmed. That was a beautiful moment.

They took at the end a group photo with all volunteers.

After a 10 minutes break, the cocktail reception started.

There were 4 tables; every table had two seats for the actors.

The only bad thing is that you couldn't pay attention to both of them; you could hear just what one of them was saying.

My side of the table was lucky to have Gale.

Then we had Ryan, Michelle and Sheena.

After the cocktail party, it was time for the VIP dinner.

I didn't have it at the beginning, but as compensation for the reduced time of the Con, we were gifted with a place at Robert's table. And we had a wonderful time with him.

He asked us lots of questions, like name, profession, hometown and our highlights for the day and for our holiday in L.A.

We said we had a small crush on Ryan and I asked him if he actually remembered him, since Ryan was on the show for just few episodes. Robert said that yes, he remembered him and that he was actually the first one who introduced himself the first day Ryan came on the set.

We told him we were at the Pride the day before and then he suggested us to go to the Observatory, 'cause the view from there it's fabulous. He was actually the second person giving us the same advice. (Ryan told us about it too)

We chatted about Tv shows and we suggested him to watch Spartacus.

After a while, Randy had to leave and so Robert left the table to say goodbye.

And then…. there was a special moment, one I'll never forget….

Gale hugged Randy tight and Randy was on his tiptoe ….

It was like watching the final seconds of episode 510.

All you could hear in the room was "Awwwww…. "

A beautiful and priceless moment ♥

It was too soon time for everyone to say goodbye. Robert agreed to take a pic with all the girls on his table and then he hugged and kissed all of us.

I then waited to say goodbye also to Scott and hugged and kissed him.

And that's all… a wonderful, special, unique day that I will always remember!

After the end of the Con, some of us stayed at the bar of the hotel till late, talking about the Con, about us, about everything.
